UPDATE 1-Avastin on par with Lucentis--side effects seen

CHICAGO, April 28 (Reuters) - A head-to-head study comparing Roche Holding AG's cancer drug Avastin with its far more expensive eye drug Lucentis showed that the cheaper drug worked just as well but had more side effects, U.S. researchers said on Thursday.
