The Week in Review: Edan Instruments Raises $146 Million in ChiNext Debut

Shenzhen Edan Instruments, a medical device maker, completed a ChiNext IPO, raising $146 million; Aslan Pharma of Singapore announced a $12 million Series A funding, which it will use to in-license novel medicines; Sinopharm Group raised $440 million in a secondary offering; Mitsui obtained a 34% stake in a China chemotherapy JV; Columbia University licensed worldwide rights covering autoimmune IP to a China group; Roche expects China to be one of its top 3 global revenue producers by 2015; Lotus Pharma will be as much as six months late in completing its new Beijing facility; and, just before its $1.8 billion IPO, Shanghai Pharma reported Q1 net income more than doubled.
