DUSSELDORF, Germany, Aug. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Germany's leading communications agency, Ketchum Pleon, has appointed Tasso Enzweiler as managing director of its Dusseldorf office. He succeeds Ketchum partner Dirk Popp, who was recently named CEO of Ketchum Pleon Germany. In his new management position, Enzweiler is responsible for one of the agency's largest offices, which employs more than 125 communication consultants.

Enzweiler joins from Hering Schuppener Consulting, where he spent five years as managing director. In that role, he advised clients on all matters relating to corporate, financial and political communications, with particular emphasis on issues management, corporate responsibility, strategic positioning and financial market transactions.

Enzweiler previously served as managing director of Germany's New Social Market Economy Initiative (Initiative Neue Soziale Marktwirtschaft) and held senior posts as a business and financial journalist with the Financial Times Deutschland and Die Welt newspapers. He also was a reporter for business magazines Capital and Manager Magazin. Enzweiler has received numerous awards for his work, including the European Excellence Award, PR Award and Politik Award.
