La Quinta Resources Corp (TSXV: LAQ) (CVE: LAQ) is focused on exploring for gold and silver on its Easter and BlackJack properties in Nevada and copper, silver and gold in Carruthers Pass volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) project in British Columbia.

La Quinta Resources Corp acquired the Easter gold project in Nevada from Nevada Eagle Resources, a subsidiary of Fronteer Development Group Inc. Further to Fronteer Gold’s acquisition by Newmont (NYSE: NEM), La Quinta owns the option at the Easter Gold project with the newly formed spin off exploration company called Pilot Gold.

La Quinta Resources’ Nevada gold projects are in a well known neighbourhood. Nevada has witnessed several mining takeovers recently. Some of the exploration companies with properties in the area include Mexivada Mining Corp (TSX VENTURE: MNV) and Golden Predator Corp (TSX: GPD).

Carruthers Pass is a volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) target discovered by Phelps Dodge in 1997 and explored by them between 1997 and 2000. The property consists of 130 mineral claim units covering 3,250 hectares.

Carruthers Pass is located in central British Columbia, approximately 70 kilometres south of the Kemess gold-copper porphyry mine owned by North Gate Minerals (TSX: NGX) (NYSE Amex: NXG).

The Carruthers Pass project is under option from Cariboo Rose Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: CRB). La Quinta Resources Corp (TSX VENTURE: LAQ) can acquire up to 90% of Carruthers Pass project on making agreed payments and work commitments.
