The company occupies significant positions in major commodity businesses, including aluminum, energy coal and metallurgical coal, copper, manganese, iron ore, uranium, nickel, silver and titanium minerals, and they have substantial interests in oil, gas, liquefied natural gas and diamonds.
Herman has been with the company for 30 years. He possesses extensive expertise in mining taxation and tax law. During his collegiate career, Mr. Steyn earned a Mining Tax Diploma from the University of South Africa as well as a Higher Diploma in Tax Law and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Johannesburg, graduating with Honors. He is a member of the South African Institute of Tax Practitioners. In the time away from his busy schedule, Herman is an active individual who greatly enjoys working out, running, and mountain climbing.
