Earnings Plunge For VeriFone

VeriFone Systems Inc. (NYSE: PAY) reported sharply lower second quarter earnings of 13 cents per share compared with 27 cents per share in the year ago period and forecast third quarter results below estimates. Shares of the electronic payment solutions company plunged $7.03 to $37.97.
