WINDSOR, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 06/05/12 -- On Thursday, June 7th, BMO employees in Windsor will find out what it's like to be a teacher when they help out at the local YMCA. Volunteers will assist in a classroom helping individuals and/or small groups with reading, writing and listening assignments.
The YMCA of Windsor and Essex County has been within the community since 1868 and strives to provide services that help with the spiritual, mental and physical development of local residents.
The event will be part of the first North America-wide BMO Volunteer Day, with 6,500 employees across Canada and the U.S. rolling up their sleeves to give back.
"The YMCA is an integral part of the Windsor community, as well as communities across the country," said David Blyth, Senior Vice-President, Ontario Region, BMO Bank of Montreal. "Partnering with an agency that helps teachers as well as students through educational initiatives is an honour, and a project of which I'm proud to be a part."
