StoneArch Creative was honored as a Healthiest Employer in the Twin Cities for 2012 by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. The designation recognizes companies demonstrating outstanding workplace wellness programs. Honored companies were ranked by Healthiest Employers LLC. A variety of criteria was used, including employers offering health plans with disease-management programs, access to fitness facilities and ongoing wellness communications to employees.
“Making people healthy and ensuring they stay healthy is at the very core of who we are and why we are in business. Since our founding in 1984, we have focused solely on medical device and healthcare clients,” said Jessica Boden, president of StoneArch Creative. “Wellness is at the forefront of our decision making and philosophy for employees as well.”
The agency supports numerous wellness initiatives including Stretch, an employee-run program. Stretch is an ongoing effort to encourage healthful behaviors and activities among agency staff. One unique activity is a twice-daily reminder to briefly stop working. A calming bell encourages employees at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to stop what they are doing and stretch, bend or move to reenergize their body and spirit. “What’s really interesting about our Stretch program is that it is a grassroots program. And it has become ingrained in our culture. It’s truly a program for the people, by the people,” said Brian Klein, Video Editor and Motion Graphics Artist.
Other initiatives have included agency bike-to-work days, on-site tai chi classes, healthful potluck luncheons and a holiday competition called 5-Day Gain.
