The Law Offices of Todd M. Garber announces that a class action lawsuit has been filed in the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana on behalf of a class (the “Class”) consisting of all persons or entities who purchased or otherwise acquired the common stock of LHC Group, Inc. (“LHC” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ:LHCG) between July 30, 2008 and October 26, 2011, inclusive (the “Class Period”). LHC, together with its subsidiaries, provides post-acute health care services primarily to Medicare beneficiaries throughout the United States.
The Complaint alleges that, in violation of federal securities laws, the defendants issued materially false and misleading statements concerning LHC’s business and financial prospects. Specifically, the Complaint alleges that during the Class Period the Company and its chief executive officer failed to disclose that the reported growth in LHC’s home-based healthcare segment was primarily created by the Company maximizing its Medicare reimbursement by manipulating the number of patient visits, regardless of patient need, to achieve the most profitable number of therapy visits under the Medicare home health program.
If you are a member of the above-described Class, you may move the Court no later than August 13, 2012 to serve as lead plaintiff; however, you must meet certain legal requirements. To be a member of the Class you need not take any action at this time, or you may retain counsel of your choice. If you have information or would like to learn more about these claims, or if you have any questions concerning this announcement or your rights or interests with respect to these matters, please contact Todd M. Garber, Esquire, of the Law Offices of Todd M. Garber, by telephone at 213-700-7262 or by email to info@toddgarberlaw.com.
