Retailers Swoon As Consumers Fail To Spend; COH Falls

Macy's (M) (M) and other big retailer stocks are mostly down ahead of chain-store sales numbers for July. Several have slipped, amid new data showing that incomes are rising but consumers are reluctant to spend. Macy's fell 2.2% Tuesday, Dillard's (DDS) (DDS) 2.4% and Saks (SKS) (SKS) 1.6%.
