Wall Street News Alert's "stocks to watch" this morning are: Axis Technologies Group, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: AXTG), Bucyrus International, Inc. (NASDAQ: BUCY), ElkCorp (NYSE: ELK) and DynCorp International (NYSE: DCP).
It's time to start watching Axis Technologies Group, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: AXTG) again! Yesterday after the stock markets closed, the company, whose patented energy-saving and daylight harvesting electronic dimming ballasts are taking the country by storm, issued a press release announcing that they are currently in negotiations with the TFM Group for exclusive distribution of the Axis Dimming/Daylight Harvesting (DDH) fluorescent ballasts in the United Kingdom and Europe.
This could be huge for the company! According to the press release, the TFM Group conducts over $100,000,000 of business per year in distribution and placement for their clients with anticipated sales of Axis products to exceed $20,000,000 USD a year. The TFM Group plans to initially address the market in the United Kingdom, then move on to the European mainland.
The patented Axis Dimming/Daylight Harvesting Ballast is a new technology that transforms the ballast, a once standard lighting industry staple, into a dynamic energy saving system that can reduce lighting energy costs by up to 70%. The Axis DDH Ballast utilizes an individual photo sensor to automatically adjust the amount of electrical current flowing to the light fixture, and then dims or increases lighting in conjunction with the amount of available sunlight that may be harvested from available windows and sunlight. The Axis DDH Ballast avoids "over-lit" conditions that increase energy costs by keeping lighting "tuned" to the desired level in a designated area.
Wall Street News Alert continues coverage on Axis Technologies! In a study conducted by the Engineering Employers' Federation (EEF) analysts researched UK companies to discover an average 42% electricity price increase for manufacturing firms in the last 18 months. Supply shortages and geopolitical concerns were cited as the cause of this consistent increase and encourages the European market to further explore energy-saving resources.
"Due to the extremely high cost of electricity in Europe we are confident the Axis ballasts will be received very well," said Kip Hirschbach, CEO of Axis Technologies Group, Inc.
Before the news hit the wires, the company's stock closed at $2.28 a share.
