Infosys Technologies announced that Finacle from Infosys was named a leader in the January 2009 report, “The Forrester Wave: Global Banking Platforms, Q1 2009”. Infosys Finacle scored highest on criteria of current offering as well as corporate and product strategy. The detailed report is available at: http://www.infosys.com/finacle/solutions/global-banking-platform.asp.
In this report, Forrester selected vendors according to scope, global success, and relevance. These were short-listed through a rigorous multi-criteria selection process that included an in-depth appraisal of their coverage of the Forrester banking functions map, next-generational architecture approach, success in 2007, global delivery capability and mindshare among the Forrester client base.
According to the report by Jost Hoppermann, Vice President, Forrester, "Infosys earned top scores for current offering and strategy in this edition of Forrester’s Wave evaluation of global banking platforms. One of the reasons is Infosys’ strong architecture focus as well as its overhaul of the banking platform that touched many areas of Finacle. Infosys with Finacle scores highest on architecture and highly on flexibility."
Finacle from Infosys ranked number 1 in Overall Strategy and earned the top score for its Current Offering. Finacle also received the highest scores for product strategy and is one of the best positioned organizations to deliver agile banking platforms.
Haragopal M, Head – Finacle, Infosys Technologies Ltd, said: "We are pleased to accept this recognition. Our position as a leader in the Forrester Wave reflects Finacle's proven strengths - focused strategy, a comprehensive universal banking solution with scalable, flexible and open services based architecture, and new generation technology. The report findings further recognize Finacle's expertise in addressing requirements of large banks across the globe."
The report evaluated the vendors across 108 criteria grouped into three key result areas - Strategy, Market Presence and Current Offering. The report states, “On a more detailed level, strong points are functional composition, process execution, and integration. Infosys is one of the two vendors with the highest score on data and information management approaches and also shows the highest scores for multichannel enablement as well as deployment and operations.”
