The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) has offered its formal endorsement of the 2012 APCO Global Congress to be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on 1-3 May, 2012.

The APCO Global Congress is the premier public safety communications event that brings the international public safety community together in the Middle East. The Congress will showcase the vast array of technology and education available to public safety professionals in the global arena. It will also offer practitioners a chance to better understand the needs and concerns of diverse geographic and political regions so they can provide the most advanced and efficient technologies.

The DCAA was established as an autonomous body to undertake development of Air Transport Industry in the Emirate of Dubai and to oversee all aviation related activities.

Aviation Security, one of the many functions of the DCAA, is responsible for ensuring the security processes at each of Dubai's Airports comply with international and national standards. The section also reviews and accepts the Airport Security Program of both Dubai International and Al Maktoum International airports.

There is a great benefit of Public Safety and Civil Aviation working together to develop a comprehensive response to major events, disasters and drills. Mutual understanding of industry counterparts and their roles creates a better working relationship. This cooperative effort helps ensure a more expedient response to emergencies.
