Janney Montgomery Scott LLC (“Janney”) today announced Gregory B. (Greg) McShea, Esq. has joined the firm as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. The firm also announced the promotion of Anthony (Tony) Miller to Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and Financial Operations Principal.
“The addition of Greg McShea, as well as Tony Miller’s promotion and broadened responsibility, strengthens Janney’s team,” said Timothy C. Scheve, Janney’s President and CEO. “Greg has a depth and breadth of knowledge related to legal and compliance matters across all aspects of our business, and also possesses a strong communication and management background to oversee the diverse and challenging legal and regulatory landscape faced by our businesses.”
Scheve continued, “Tony’s ability and leadership has been as asset to our firm over the course of his ten year tenure with Janney, as evidenced by his success leading our finance team. I’m confident he’ll excel in this newly created role, which will bring Janney’s Finance, Operations and Information Technology groups under common leadership.”
McShea joins Janney with fifteen years experience in regulatory and legal affairs within the financial services industry. Most recently at M&T Bank, McShea oversaw the entire regulatory and compliance function of the asset management division of the bank. He also was responsible for compliance oversight of the bank’s broker-dealer. His previous experience also includes serving as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Western Asset Management Company in California, as well as holding various roles at Legg Mason Wood Walker, including Regional Compliance Officer. He also held the position of General Counsel at Legg Mason Capital Management, Inc.
Miller joined the firm as the Director of Internal Audit in 2002, before transitioning into the Corporate Controller function. He served in this capacity before being promoted to Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Janney, he was with Ernst & Young. He is a CPA and a board member of the SIFMA Financial Management Society.
