AAI Logistics & Technical Services Wins UAE C-17 Maintenance Training Award
Courseware and Instruction Deliver Comprehensive Learning Experience

HUNT VALLEY, Md., April 24, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AAI Logistics & Technical Services, an operating unit of Textron Systems, a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, announced today that the business has received a competitive award to provide C-17 Globemaster maintenance training for the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) Advanced Military Maintenance Repair Overhaul Centre (AMMROC), a joint venture company owned by Mubadala Aerospace, Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation and Lockheed Martin Corporation.

AAI Logistics & Technical Services will provide C-17 maintenance training for AMMROC mechanical and avionics technicians. This will include classroom training featuring AAI's modular C-17 maintenance training courseware, developed and honed throughout more than a decade of experience with multiple customers around the world. With that comprehensive academic background, AAI instructors will then lead AMMROC trainees through hands-on instruction with the aircraft.

"Our courseware is developed specifically for maintainers, not just adapted from aircrew training," explains Senior Vice President and General Manager Diane Giuliani of AAI Logistics & Technical Services. "Over our many years of C-17 maintenance training experience, we've also modularized the courseware so we can tailor a training program for each customer's requirements. The result is comprehensive, affordable and easy to implement, right off the shelf."

Various military organizations structure their maintenance trades differently, with areas of specialty reflecting the particular needs of their fleets. Modular courseware allows AAI Logistics & Technical Services to customize the curriculum based on the number of maintenance trades and the features of the fleet.

"Trainees also benefit from our experienced instructors," says Giuliani. "These include both former U.S. Air Force instructors and former C-17 maintenance training instructors. They understand the role and the aircraft, and can provide unique insights on how to get the job done."

AAI Logistics & Technical Services has an extensive record of success in C-17 maintenance training, including five years providing courseware and instruction for the United Kingdom's Royal Air Force, as well as current work with the Royal Australian Air Force.
