The Talbots, Inc. (TLB) today announced that it has named Sue Walsh Senior Vice President of Stores for the J. Jill brand. In this role, Ms. Walsh will be responsible for the sales and operations of J. Jill’s over 280 stores, and will report directly to J. Jill President Paula Bennett.

Ms. Walsh, 46, is a 25-year retail veteran, with extensive expertise in store operations. Ms. Walsh spent nearly 13 years at Williams-Sonoma Inc., where she served in roles of increasing responsibility, most recently as Vice President of Stores for Pottery Barn. In this role, she was responsible for the operation and profitability of 200 locations across the United States and Canada. She also oversaw the growth of the division from 103 stores to its current size and scope, in addition to the remodel and expansion of 33 locations. Prior to Williams-Sonoma, Ms. Walsh served as District Manager of Contempo Casuals and Department Manager of Bradlees.

Ms. Walsh holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Boston College, and resides in Dallas, TX and will be relocating to the Boston area.
